Attempted to go to an Arkansas Travelers game yesterday, but sadly, it was rained out. Luckily, there will be a double-header tonight, but my best friend (other than my wife) can't make it, so it won't be the same. After the game was called on account of rain last night, we went to see "Envy" at the dollar show. It was worth the buck. At the theatre, however, I saw one of the grossest things I've ever seen. There was this silver compact parked next to me, TOTALLY FILLED with GARBAGE, save for the driver's seat. As we got out to go to the theatre, I noticed a huge WHITE RAT running around the back package tray. I reported the car to the theatre owners, figuring it was abandoned, but as we left the theatre, this short greasy-looking guy actually got in the car and drove off. EWWW!
The wife and I came up with a "Wish List" the other day, a place for both of us to write down things and cirumstances we'd like to obtain within a given time period. There's a "1-3 month", a "3-6 month", etc, up to 5 years. This is helping us actually sort out of all the fleeting desires we express, and make a written record of the ones that are most important to us. We're tracking our progess towards these goals as well. So far this month, we've achieved: New underwear (hey, a guy's gotta have priorities); and a new lawnmower.
The list, combined with the facts that our budgeting is getting much better, bills are actually getting paid on time, and we're actually starting to have month at the end of the paychecks, is making our lives less stressful.
