R.I.P. Ronald Reagan
One of my earliest childhood memories is sitting on the floor of my living room, scared to death, watching the Iran hostage crisis. I remember having this terrible fear that the entire U.S. was going to be 'taken hostage'.
My childhood fear, in a way, was a reality. America HAD been taken hostage, and it needed someone to rescue it.
That someone was Ronald Reagan.
I know some of my blog readers would disagree with his politics, but Reagan arrived at the time when America needed him most.
He gave me hope growing up, erasing the memories of three recent National embarassments (My namesake, Ford, and Carter.)
I will mourn his loss today, but to me, it will ALWAYS be "Morning in America."
Godspeed, Mr. President.
