Baseball playoffs, and post 104?
I had intended on doing something special for my 100th post, as after the last post, by "dashboard" said I had posted 99. But, suddenly, it says I've posted 103. Oh well, so, to celebrate post number 104, I'll talk briefly about my favorite sport, BASEBALL!
The playoffs are here, and I'm excited.
In the American League, we have the Minnesota Twins, who were looking at being contracted not too long ago, taking on the EVIL EMPIRE themselves, the dreaded New York Yankees.
On the other side of the AL bracket, it's the Anaheim Angels taking on the Cinderella team of the Boston Red Sox, who blessed my beloved CUBS with Nomar Hamm, and STILL made the playoffs. More on this in a bit.
The National League brings a Cub-Free playoff, dangit, but does feature my team of record, the team I grew up cheering for when Dale Murphy was king, the Atlanta Braves. They'll be taking on the juggernaut that is the Houston Astros, who put together one of the most impressive winning streaks in baseball history this year.
Also challenging for the NLCS bid are the angry Los Angeles Dodgers and the Midwest's favorite sons the St. Louis Cardinals.
So, you probably aren't asking, "Nixon, who are your picks?"
Thanks for asking!
New York over Minnesota
Boston over Anaheim
St. Louis over Los Angeles
Atlanta over Houston
ALCS: The Red Sox pull of the shocker!
NLCS: Braves over Cardinals
World Series: The Bambino's final team exercise his ghost once and for all, and the BOSTON RED SOX defeat the Braves in a series for the ages!
A guy can dream, can't he?
