Nixon's Memoirs: Peacocks

Peacocks

I was all set to give NBC major props last night for having a big enough set to call Ohio for George Bush.

Then they went and publicly castrated themselves by refusing to call Nevada, or any other state that the other networks had called for Bush while calling Ohio "Too close."

One guy even was so bold as to say it. "The only reason we're not calling Nevada is because no network wants to be first."

What? I thought getting the "scoop" was what journalism was all about? Oh, I see, but not if the 'scoop' is news you don't want to hear.

You had your chance to shine, NBC, and instead crawled right back into bed with the Democrats and the MSM.

I don't get Fox News Channel at work, and for some reason, the local Fox affiliate decided to switch to "Friends" right in the middle of their coverage.

Oh well, it's all over but the lawyering, but by over THREE MILLION VOTES, we all know the outcome.

FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

hehe...fox. fox only required their affiliates to carry 2 hours of election coverage. we bailed at 9p too and started our upn programing (our fox station we run...from little rock...in marquette, michigan...is a fox/upn split). i wondered what people who were watching fox thought when their election coverage ended early and went into the syndication...

I thought "Well crap, the one objective news source I had just went away!"

Then again, they pulled the same smoke and mirrors trick NBC did by not calling Nevada until Kerry conceded. I thought it was quite a pathetic performance by every last network, including Fox.
