Homespun Symposium XI
Do you think that the elections in Iraq vindicated President Bush's decision to invade Iraq?
Personally, I thought the end to the underground torture chambers, the liberation of Iraq, and the arrest of international criminal Saddam Hussein vindicated the invasion of Iraq. The elections just put a nail in the coffin of liberal apologetics.
Before the election, I hear cautious predictions for the turnout, saying that somewhere around 3 million voters would be considered a "success" in this election.
So what do you consider more than twice that figure?
A landslide for freedom and democracy.
The Mullahs in Iran should be shaking in their sandals now. Free Iran now!

It certainly was a victory for freedom. The turnout was amazingly good given the situation.
I think that we had good cause to be in Iraq to begin with..my stance on that hasn't changed. I think that the elections just re-emphasized that we are doing good in a land that has forever been oppressed by a horrid dictator. I regret though, very deeply that any of our soldiers were lost in the process..It's very much a bittersweet victory. God bless America!
The fact that a town turned out to kill those who would "punish" them for voting was vindication enough for anyone with a brain. But then, the left seems to have misplaced theirs!
