Promise Keepers weekend
We left out from the church parking lot at 10:30 am, and stopped in Conway for lunch at the Market Place Grill. After that, it was off to Fayettville for the Promise Keepers "Awakening" event at Razorback stadium.
Attendance was estimated at around 20,000. The first night was difficult, because we arrived just as the event was beginning, and got bad seats. It was difficult to hear the speakers. Day 2 was much better, as we made our way into the club level, and watched on closed circuit television, making it easy to hear, and very comfortable as well.
The highlight of the event for me was comedian Brad Stine. His brand of humor was right up my alley, and he was hilarious.
I'm still processing all the great things I heard and learned at this event, but in case anyone is wondering what the goal of a Promise Keeper is, here from the website are the "Seven Promises" of a Promise Keeper.
I plan on continuing to do my best to become a better man of God, and a better husband, and soon, I hope, a good father.
On the weight-loss front, I lost a pound this past week, putting me at 346 lbs. My wife also lost a pound, putting her at... (You don't think I'm going to post my wife's weight on a public website, do you? I promise you I won't!)
