The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.
A mixed weekend for the Casablanca household. My wife's school, which will from now on be referenced to as "AHS" for no particular reason, went down in horrid defeat by a difference of near 30 points.
But, today, thankfully, my Oklahoma Sooners went to 2-2 for the year and 1-0 in Big 12 play by defeating Kansas State 43-21. I'm still baffled as to how we didn't score the final touchdown of the muffed fair catch, but oh well, it doesn't matter, we won the game. We were outnumbered 2-1 at West End by the KSU alumni group, but by the fourth quarter, they were all gone. Ha Ha.
Despite my best efforts to make Mrs. Casablanca's 28th birthday a special one, a combination of bad drivers, and a crowded hair salon pretty much ruined her day. The AHS kids had really tested her patience on Friday, and then today everything I did or did not do or say seemed to come back and bite me in the buttocks.
But, the day ended well as we went shopping for some Kidz World prizes. Tomorrow is the big monthly drawing from all of the returned lesson programs and we had fun shopping for fun items to go into the prize bags, like Hot Wheels, football cards, stickers and such.
I heard from a dear old friend I had lost touch with today! We went to OU together, and he happened to find me on the OU alumni page. That is totally awesome. This guy is on fire for the Lord, and is one of the smartest people I've ever had the joy of knowing. I'm hoping we will renew our friendship now.
