The winner and STILL Middleweight Champion...
JERMAIN "BAD INTENTIONS" TAYLOR!
Another festive evening in the Casablanca household as we had most of the gang from my birthday party back last night for Taylor-Hopkins II
The undercard was quite good this time, and I predicted the correct outcome of each of the opening fights as Ike "Bazooka" Quartey easily defeated Carlos Bojorquez in a bloody encounter, and a brilliant young Israel “Magnifico” Vazquez won his fight.
The main event did not dissapoint either. I had the fight scored 116-112, and Jermain won in a unanimous decision 115-113.
Hopkins did his best after the fight to continue promoting Jermain's "Crybaby" Hopkins doll(Pre-fight leather S&M mask sold seperately!) by complaining once again that he was "robbed."
Speaking of that mask, oooooh, that was creepy. Basically, Hopkins came out to the ring in an "Executioners" mask that looks like he bought it from some kinky internet site. He wore the thing through the introduction, even though it was obvious he was having trouble breathing in it. There is nothing quite so pathetic as a 40-year-old man playing dress-up. This is boxing, Bernard, not the WWE.
We were all somewhat distracted by the fact that fellow-church members, and Governor and First Lady of Arkansas Mike and Janet Huckabee were in the second row, right in front of promoter Oscar De La Hoya. Fun!
Word of Arkansans pouring into the streets of Little Rock last night, not to mention the 4000 Arkansans in attendance in Las Vegas! Jermain is good for Arkansas, good for boxing, and good for sport!
Thank you, Champ!
